The professor has a very infectious passion for the material. They always attempt to engage the students with a multitude of examples and are gracious enough to format this class in a way that is accommodating for first–time students and late–year students as well.

I appreciated how engaged Professor Robles is, how passionate he is about each topic, how he encourages everyone to participate in different ways, creating an interactive environment, and the effort he puts into it. You can tell he cares about everyone’s learning and teaches with great passion and awareness. He goes above and beyond in remembering everyone’s names and in many other ways.

Never have I understood sociology so well. Never have I felt so comfortable in a class learning and using and applying course content. Never have I felt so safe and Actually was excited to go to class in the morning. This is exactly how a teacher, professor, mentor should be. WOW is how I would sum up this course and class. I learned a lot this year 🙂

One of the best classes I have ever taken. Truly makes the complex theories and topics we talk about in class easy to understand. Additionally, the effort he puts into activities to keep us engaged in our learning is so helpful and has helped me understand the content. This class was one I never missed.

I learned a lot about race and ethnic relations due to Professor Robles’ structure of the class and amazing lectures. The readings assigned were important in helping us learn and understand the material better.

Professor Robles makes the classroom a safe space for you to express how you feel and never makes you feel “dumb.” I personally have a lot of trouble participating and speaking because I am shy but he is definitely one of the reasons why I felt more confident in class, I do not feel as though I am being judged or for what I am saying because he is understanding and listens to what I have to say.
